Ramp Closure In SMC Announced For Overnight Emergency Joint Repairs: Caltrans

Caltrans scheduled a nightly detour for drivers in order to make the necessary repairs.

SAN MATEO COUNTY — Caltrans has announced an emergency overnight closure for a highway ramp on Monday in San Mateo County.

The emergency overnight closure will be at the northbound I-280 ramp leading to westbound State Route 92 in San Mateo County. The closure is necessary to perform emergency repairs on the ramp's joint seals, Caltrans said.

The work is set to begin Monday and is scheduled to conclude on the morning of Saturday. During this period, the ramp will be closed each night from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Northbound I-280 traffic intending to transition to westbound SR-92 will be directed onto a detour route:

  1. Exit onto SR-92 East.
  2. Take the Ralston Avenue exit.
  3. Turn right onto Ralston Avenue (heading north).
  4. Follow signs to take the SR-92 West onramp.

Motorists are advised to follow all posted detour signs and exercise caution in the construction zone. The schedule for all repairs is subject to change based on weather conditions.
