Road Closure Update For SMC Due To Underground Gas Leak: Fire Officials

The gas leak has caused roads to shut down for several days in this town.

BURLINGAME, CA — Police said they have reopened some roads but one remains closed Thursday in Burlingame due to a gas leak.

The Central County Fire Department sent an alert on Wednesday evening stating Broadway is now open in both directions; California Drive is now open from Carmelita Avenue to Broadway.

But due to public safety, California Drive remains closed in both directions to pedestrian and vehicular traffic from Lincoln Avenue to Broadway for an underground gasoline leak.

At 3:07 p.m. on Tuesday, the Central County Fire Department sent out an alert stating several lanes were closed due to the gas leak.

Police said significant traffic delays expected and to use alternate routes until further notice.
