San Mateo Asks: How Do We Shape Downtown?
An interactive exercise is planned as the City of San Mateo hosts the second workshop for the Downtown Specific Plan Update.
SAN MATEO, CA — The San Mateo community is invited to participate in the second Downtown Community Workshop on August 28 at San Mateo Main Library (55 West Third Avenue). At this workshop, there will be a hands-on opportunity to help shape the Downtown, identify potential areas of improvements, recognize public realm spaces that can be targeted for enhancement, and improve the overall Downtown experience.
The City has gathered a wide collection of feedback from community members, residents, workers, business and property owners, stakeholders, and many other users of the Downtown throughout the entire engagement process. For those who have not been able to participate in previous community outreach events, check-out the project website for video and event summaries:

At this time, we will highlight input that we have received from the community, confirm our shared vision for Downtown, and discuss how we get there by considering trade-offs and weighing different alternatives. As we think about the future 20 years from now, how will future generations be able to experience Downtown? Bring your ideas, participate with fellow community members, and contribute to the discussion!
We hope to see you at the August 28 Community Workshop at the San Mateo Main Library. The event begins at 6 p.m., with sign-in/registration beginning at 5:45 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. To help ensure there is sufficient seating, please reserve your space using Eventbrite.
