San Mateo City Council Candidate Holds Mother’s Day Fund Drive

SAN MATEO, CA — A San Mateo City Council candidate campaign said its Mother’s Day fundraiser raised $2,500 in support of one of the county’s leading anti-poverty nonprofit groups.

Lisa Diaz Nash said her campaign used the funds from its Mother’s Day Drive for Samaritan House to purchase supplies for newborns.

A 10-car caravan brought 100 boxes of donations of wet wipes, baby formula, clothing, baby food and 3,000 diapers and more to Samaritan House Thursday to be distributed to new mothers in need, Nash said.

“Our Mother’s Day Drive for Samaritan House was a perfect example of how much greater an impact we can have when we work together,” Nash said.

“Thanks to all the people who gave generously in any way to make this possible.”
