The crews are enroute to the devastating Creek Fire in the San Fernando Valley.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA – Firefighters from several local agencies, including Menlo Park, Woodside, Redwood City, Central County and San Mateo County Fire, headed this week to Southern California to assist with the Creek Fire burning in Los Angles County.
A total of 66 personnel will assist in battle the Sylmar-area blaze, which as of Wednesday evening led to evacuations of 120,000, plus killed dozens of horses and destroyed about 30 homes and some 15,000 acres.
“Protecting the local community is always our first priority, but helping our fellow firefighters in Southern California who are trying to save life and property in the face of this fire storm is extremely important and a critical component of the California master fire mutual aid system,” Menlo Fire Chief Schapelhouman said.
