San Mateo County Reports 69 New Coronavirus Cases, No Deaths
The latest report brings the countywide total of COVID-19 cases to 1,671
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — San Mateo County Health reported 69 additional cases of the new coronavirus Monday in its first report since Saturday covering a two-day period.
The report, which covers a two-day period going back to Saturday, brings the countywide total of COVID-19 cases to 1,671.
The county reported no additional coronavirus-related fatalities, leaving its death toll at 66.

There are currently 54 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in San Mateo County, of which 39 are being treated in intensive care units.
Elsewhere in the Bay Area, six Bay Area jurisdictions slightly relaxed the region's COVID-19 coronavirus shelter-in-place order Monday, allowing multiple industries to resume operations and retail businesses to offer storefront pick-up.

Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco and Santa Clara counties and the city of Berkeley announced the modifications to the order after multiple indicators showed recent progress toward curbing the spread of the virus.
Specialty's Cafe & Bakery, a Pleasanton-based chain that had locations around the West Coast and as far away as Chicago, announced Sunday that it is going out of business after 33 years, an apparent victim of the novel coronavirus health emergency.

There have been 80,970 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 3,260 coronavirus-related deaths in California as of Monday afternoon according to data from John Hopkins University.
The United States has confirmed 1,506,840 COVID-19 cases and 90,309 coronavirus-related fatalities as of Monday afternoon.
