San Mateo Man Among Suspects Arrested In Halloween, Mass Shooting
Five people were shot dead at an Oct. 31 party at an Airbnb rental property in Orinda.

SAN MATEO, CA — A 28-year-old man from San Mateo was among five suspects from the Bay Area arrested today in connection with a Halloween-party shooting that killed five people at an upscale, Airbnb rental in Orinda, according to authorities.
Arrest warrants for the suspects were served Thursday by multiple law-enforcement agencies in San Mateo, Marin City, Vallejo and Antioch, the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office said.
Among those taken into custody was Lebraun Tyree Wallace of San Mateo, who was arrested, and is jailed without bail, on suspicion of murder and conspiracy, the department said.

The San Mateo Police Department assisted Contra Costa deputies in the warrant service, along with Antioch and Vallejo police, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI, the agency said.
In addition to Wallace, also arrested were: Jaquez Deshawn Sweeney, 20, of Marin City for suspected murder and conspiracy, held without bail; Jason D. Iles, 20, of Marin City, for suspicion of murder, conspiracy and held without bail; Shamron Joshua Mitchell, 30, of Antioch, for suspicion of murder and conspiracy, and also jailed without bail; and 21-year-old Devin Isiah Williamson of Vallejo, arrested on suspicion of being an accessory and is jailed in lieu of $500,000 bail, authorities said.

The shootings occurred at the East Bay residence, on the 100 block of Lucille Way in Orinda, rented through Airbnb, a property where code violations were repeatedly logged, including for large parties, according to officials.
The victims killed in the shooting were: Tiyon Farley, 22, of Antioch; Omar Taylor, 24, of Pittsburg; Ramon Hill Jr., 23, of San Francisco/Oakland; Javin County, 29, of Sausalito/Richmond and Oshiana Tompkins, 19, of Vallejo/Hercules, according to officials.
At least three other people suffered some form of injury during the shooting, as well.
“Extraordinary cooperation among multiple law enforcement agencies led to these arrests and a small measure of justice for the true victims,” said Contra Costa Sheriff David Livingston. "Additionally, evidence shows two of the deceased persons inside the house were themselves armed, which may have played a role in this tragedy. We look forward to providing more information in the coming days.”
In the wake of the shooting, Airbnb announced it was banning "party houses." The company said it also would dedicate a "party house rapid response team" and take action against those who violate policies on large gatherings, Airbnb CEO and co-founder Brian Chesky said.
