A 39-year-old Hayward man was arrested on suspicion of carrying a weapon, drugs and burglary tools.

SAN MATEO, CA — A Hayward man was arrested after police said he was driving erratically. The man was taken into custody on suspicion of carrying a weapon, drugs and burglary tools early Tuesday morning, police said.

Elvin Ferrer, 39, was stopped after reportedly "swerving in the roadway and using the wrong lane to make a turn" just before 5 a.m., police said. He was driving along Edgewater Boulevard near state Highway 92 in San Mateo.

Police checked Ferrer's records and found that he had a suspended driver's license. Authorities said they found ammunition, a butterfly knife, methamphetamine and "tools consistent with auto burglary."
