San Mateo Restaurant Fails Health Inspection

It's one two in San Mateo County that were closed because of major code violations. Here's how to check inspection records for dining spots.

SAN MATEO, CA - Curry Up Now in San Mateo and Akisu Sushi Bar and Grill in Foster City were closed earlier this month by the San Mateo County Health Department because of critical code violations.

Curry Up Now flunked the following areas:

  • Food Contact Surfaces Not Clean and Sanitized
  • Lack of Hot and/or Cold Water

Akisu Sushi Bar and Grill flunked the following areas:

  • Food in good condition, safe and unadulterated
  • No insects, rodents, birds or animals present
  • Food contact surfaces: clean and sanitized

Akisu was closed on Feb. 2. Follow-up inspections were held each day through the 5th, when the restaurant passed and reopened.
