Society of St. Vincent de Paul Hosts 'Eat Your Heart Out' Dinner, Auction
The event took place earlier this month at Viognier Restaurant in Draeger's Market.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of San Mateo County hosted a festive and successful first annual “Eat Your Heart Out” Dinner and Auction on May 3 at in Draeger’s Market, honoring the legacy of Frank and Mary Draeger’s generous support of the St. Vincent de Paul Food Fund.

Executive Director, Lorraine Moriarty welcomed the guests and shared a note from Mary Draeger. Then, she thanked the whole family for their parents’ legacy of love for the poorest of the poor.
This signature fundraising event was a resounding success due to the hard work of the host committee, co-chaired by Katrina Berube and Chris Mumford, and the generosity of those attending. Moreover, everyone helped take a bite out of poverty and “Raised the Roof” on a new Food Pantry in East Palo Alto.
Every year, volunteers at SVdP’s St. Francis of Assisi Conference make over 3,000 home visits in East Palo Alto and Menlo Park’s Belle Haven communities and help over 10,000 neighbors by providing much needed fresh food and staples. With hearts wide open, funds were raised to complete the new pantry.
Gratitude abounds for the evening and for the hard work that is done day in and day out in service to over 40,000 individuals in our community, responding to urgent requests for food, rental assistance, and basic survival necessities; providing over $500,000 in rental assistance, distributing over 1.5 million in food, and serving over 100,000 meals at our Homeless Help Centers. A truly blessed evening was had by all!
