Stabbing In San Mateo Leaves 21-Year-Old Man Dead
Police found a suspect "hiding" near the area where a man, 21, was found stabbed in the upper chest.
SAN MATEO, CA — Police arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old man in San Mateo Saturday night, according to a statement from the San Mateo Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to Cypress Avenue and North Bayshore Boulevard at 11:26 p.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed in the upper chest.
Police rendered first aid to the man before he was taken to a local trauma center, where he died.

A suspect was found "hiding nearby" and was arrested.
"Detectives learned this was an isolated incident between people who knew each other," Alison Gilmore, the San Mateo Police Department's spokesperson, wrote in a statement. "Thanks to the collaborative and efficient efforts at the crime scene, San Mateo Police Department was able to identify a suspect. "
