Teen Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI After Multiple Hit-And-Runs Tuesday

A 17-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly driving while intoxicated and causing multiple hit-and-run collisions in San Mateo Tuesday.

SAN MATEO, CA — A 17-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly driving while intoxicated and causing multiple hit-and-run collisions in San Mateo on Tuesday, according to police.

Officers responded at 2:46 p.m. to the area of Shoreview and Kehoe avenues on a report of reckless driving and a hit-and-run involving a tan Chevrolet pickup truck. When they arrived, the officers found multiple hit-and-runs had occurred in the area and the truck was in the 900 block of Norton Street, San Mateo police said.

The 17-year-old was found in the vehicle and was determined to be intoxicated. A girl who was a passenger in the truck had minor injuries from the hit-and-runs and was released to the custody of a parent, according to police.

The 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and hit-and-run resulting in injury, and ultimately was released to a parent after the execution of a blood draw warrant and subsequent medical clearance at a hospital, police said. His name is not being released because he is a juvenile.
