Teens Arrested After Stealing $3,500 In Fragrance From Sephora: Police

Four people — ages 13, 17, 18 and 20 — were arrested and charged, San Mateo police said.

SAN MATEO, CA — A 20-year-old and three teens were arrested and charged after stealing more than $3,500 in fragrances from a Sephora in San Mateo, according to police.

The group was apprehended around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. Officers received a 911 call from store loss prevention and were told three people had stolen multiple bottles of fragrances and fled in a waiting car, according to police, who said the retailer provided a license plate number and description of the vehicle.

Officers found the car trying to merge onto Highway 101, stopped the vehicle, detained its occupants and recovered 26 bottles of fragrances, police said.

Andre BeckoSteen-Mixon, 20, of Oakland, and Christopher Range, 18, of Carmichael, were charged with second-degree burglary, conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to police, who said both were booked into San Mateo County Jail. A 17-year-old girl from Yuba City and a 13-year-old boy from San Mateo were charged with second-degree burglary and conspiracy, police said.
