1960s Folk and Folk Rock

Rock Historian Richie Unterberger celebrates and reminisces about "the days of old with that old time rock'n'roll."

In the early ‘60s no one thought that rock’n’rollers and folk musicians would ever blend their musical styles. Folk musicians were proudly acoustic and serious. Rock’n’rollers were unaware of folk music traditions and did not feel the need to move beyond their songs of romance and partying. Clips and footage to be screened include such performers as the Byrds, Bob Dylan, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Joni Mitchell, and others.
