2 Arrested After Felony Stop On Richmond–San Rafael Bridge
Two people were arrested after CHP officers performed a felony stop on an alleged stolen vehicle on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.
SAN RAFAEL, CA — Two people have been detained after California Highway Patrol officers performed a felony stop on an alleged stolen vehicle on the eastbound Richmond-San Rafael Bridge/Interstate Highway 580 early Wednesday morning, CHP officials said.
The stop was performed around 5:07 a.m., according to CHP Officer Patrick Roth, mid-span on the bridge. The No. 2 and 3 lanes were blocked as the pair was taken into custody.
Not long after, a four-vehicle collision was reported on eastbound I-580 near San Quentin State Prison at 5:46 a.m. There are no initial reports of injuries, but additional delays are anticipated, Roth said.
