2 Cited In San Rafael Alcohol Sales Stings
Of 12 businesses, the Azteca 2 Market on Fourth Street in San Rafael was the only business that sold alcohol to a minor, police said.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – Two adults were cited for providing alcohol to a minor during two separate operations conducted by police Saturday in San Rafael.
According to the San Rafael Police Department, during a minor decoy operation, a minor under the supervision of police attempted to purchase alcohol from 12 businesses. Of the 12 businesses, the Azteca 2 Market on Fourth Street in San Rafael was the only business that sold alcohol to the minor, police said.
Sergio Alberto Perez Lopez, a 27-year-old Novato resident, was cited for the sale and then released.

San Rafael police also conducted a shoulder tap operation. During the operation, a minor under the supervision of police asked patrons of a liquor store to purchase alcohol. Out of the 24 adults the decoy asked, one was cited.
He was identified as 63-year-old David Barlow of San Rafael.

According to police, officials with the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control are conducting compliance checks statewide in order to reduce the availability of alcohol to minors.
