40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training

Become a certified domestic violence advocate!

Center for Domestic Peace (C4DP) is offering a 40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate training. There are possible volunteer opportunities for the following positions:
Women’s Emergency Hotline Advocate
Support Group Facilitator
Batterer Intervention Program Facilitator

* Participation in our training does not guarantee a volunteer position. Our facilitators will evaluate their need for volunteers once the training is completed.

Volunteer with us and make a difference in your community! Participation in this training also qualifies for field placement college credit in social work and psychology courses and is board-approved for MFT, LCSW, and Nursing Continuing Education units.

The training fee is $300. If you are with another domestic violence agency, the fee is $150. If you are a student at Dominican University or College of Marin, the fee is $100.

WHEN: 9:00am-5:00pm on Wednesday, June 17; Friday, June 19; Tuesday, June 23; Thursday, June 25, and Saturday, June 27.

WHERE: C4DP Administrative Office—734 A Street in San Rafael, CA

WHY: Domestic Violence Advocates provide peer support, domestic violence information, and resource referrals to those experiencing domestic violence. They also provide assistance with practical, emotional, and legal issues through C4DP’s Spanish and English hotlines and outreach programs. Volunteers are also needed for community action and education for C4DP’s prevention programs and fundraising efforts.
