MARIN COUNTY, CA — Authorities issued five violations last week during a gang probation sweep in Marin County.
In response to an increase in gang activity around Marin, law enforcement officers on Oct. 9 conducted unannounced searches of gang members and their affiliates. Officers issued five probation violations and witnessed "several indicators of continued gang activity," according to county officials.
The Marin County Probation Department partnered with the Marin County Sheriff's Office, the San Rafael Police Department, the Novato Police Department, the California Department of Corrections and the FBI to conduct the searches in Central Marin, Novato and San Rafael.
