AAA Offers Free Tows On Christmas Eve In Northern California

AAA Northern California is offering its free Tipsy Tow service to make sure drivers get home safely for Christmas.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – AAA is making sure drivers get home safely for Christmas. The company is offering its free Tipsy Tow service on Christmas Eve in Northern California.

"As families and friends gather to celebrate Christmas Eve, AAA wants to ensure everyone has a plan on getting themselves or guests home safely," said Michael Blasky, spokesman for AAA Northern California.

"If you've been singing 'I'll Be Home for Christmas,' we urge you to keep your promise, and never drive drunk. AAA encourages all Northern Californians to use Tipsy Tow, if necessary, to ensure they'll spend the holiday with their loved ones, safe and sound."

The service will be available from 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, in Northern California.

Anyone who would like to hail a ride just need to call 1-800-AAA-HELP or 1-800-222-4357 and ask for a "tipsy tow" to receive a free ride home and vehicle tow of up to 10 miles.

The service is not just for existing AAA members. Motorists will be charged a standard towing rate for towing beyond 10 miles. The service does not include roadside assistance.
