At 36 years old, Robert Ankrum of San Rafael was a forging his career in business management when he realized he needed some creativity in his life.
After taking a few classes in photography, he set out on a creative journey that gave him renewed calm and unexpected rewards.
With the mission to experience and capture the beauty of nature and landscapes, Ankrum realized he captured his best photos when he "took the time to look."
"A photographer friend of mine calls it 'listening to the whispers,' " said Ankrum.
