Armed Robbers Break Into San Rafael Apartment: Police
The victims told police that one of the suspects pointed a rifle at them, officials said. (BREAKING)

SAN RAFAEL, CA – One man was arrested and another is still at large after they allegedly attempted to rob the residents of an apartment Wednesday in San Rafael, authorities said Friday.
Police responded to a report of an attempted robbery around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of B Street, according to the San Rafael Police Department.
The victims told police that Bertrell Lewis, 41 of Fremont, entered the apartment with a rifle and pointed the firearm at them, Sgt. Lisa Holton said.

"One of the victims grabbed the rifle and pulled it away," Holton said. "They were able to hold Lewis on the ground until officers arrived."
Officers arrested Lewis, Holton said, and found an AR-15 rifle and high-capacity magazine at the apartment. The second suspect had already fled the scene.

Lewis was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of attempted robbery, burglary, possession of an assault weapon, possession of a high capacity magazine and conspiracy, Holton said. He was being held on $75,000 bail.
The incident remains under investigation.
