Body Found On Highway 101 Off-Ramp In San Rafael

SAN RAFAEL, CA – California Highway Patrol officials are seeking the public's help in finding the person responsible for a fatal collision that occurred Tuesday night in San Rafael.

The California Highway Patrol received a call around 8:35 p.m. regarding a body on the Lucas Valley Road off-ramp from northbound U.S. Highway 101.

Emergency personnel from the CHP, Marin County Sheriff’s Office, San Rafael Police Department and San Rafael Fire Department arrived on the scene and found a man in the off-ramp lane, near the vehicle entrance to the bus pad, CHP officials said. Despite lifesaving efforts, he died shortly after being transported to Kaiser San Rafael.

The victim's injuries were consistent with a vehicle strike, however, there were no vehicles stopped in the area, according to CHP officials.

The Lucas Valley Road off-ramp was closed for a couple of hours but reopened around 11:30 p.m., according to the CHP.
