Candidate Filing Opens For November 2018 Election In Marin County
Nominations will be accepted July 16 through Aug. 10.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – The nomination period opens July 16 for local offices in the November 2018 election.
The nomination period ends at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, with an extension to Wednesday, Aug. 15, if an incumbent officeholder does not file. Seats open for nomination include:
- Marin County Board of Education, Sonoma County Board of Education, and 18 school districts
- Special districts including community services districts, fire protection districts, the Marin Healthcare District, public utility districts, recreation districts, the Marin Resource Conservation District, sanitary districts and water districts
- Sausalito City Council and Tiburon Town Council (municipal candidates must file nomination documents with their respective city clerk)

Candidates may pick up and file nomination papers at the Marin County Elections Department, Suite 121, Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael. The department is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and until 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10. Candidates can also submit their application form online.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The deadline to register to vote in the election is Monday, Oct. 22.
