SUBMITTED FOR PUBLICATION BY COUNTY OF MARIN:

MARIN COUNTY, CA – The Marin Employment Connection, operated by the Marin Department of Health and Human Services, has launched a new brand and website under the name CareerPoint MARIN to better serve a wider range of job seekers and businesses with employment and training services. CareerPoint MARIN is part of a four-county network of career centers funded through a new regional board, the Workforce Alliance of the North Bay.

The Alliance, which serves Marin, Lake, Mendocino and Napa counties, receives funding through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act as part of a national system of workforce development boards. Boards are comprised of business leaders, economic development professionals and educators who brainstorm ways to deliver employment and training services through a network of career centers.

“The rebranding of our career centers is a step toward achieving economies of scale with our outreach to employers and job seekers in the North Bay,” said Bruce Wilson, the alliance’s executive director. “Collectively we help our customers by offering a suite of services that are available across our region, regardless of the county where job seekers reside or employers operate.”

Some of these service offerings include supporting job seekers with training, skill building and connection to jobs that fit their talents and skills. Businesses also can access resources to hire the right employees, build the skills of their current workforce and grow their business through special partner services, grants and initiatives.
