Join the Marin History Museum for a docent led tour of Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, (Mt. Olivet), in San Rafael. The property is 20 acres of hill top. We will visit the resting sites of the first settlers of Marin County. Timothy Murphy, 1st naturalized citizen of Mexico and administrator of Mission San Rafael, James Miller, 1st settler to come by land to Marin, and John and Maria Lucas who donated this gift of land as a Catholic Cemetery. Learn the history, hear the stories and see how highway 101 originally passed north.
