EcoFair Marin is the first annual community celebration to inspire a healthy and sustainable county. 

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Temple Grandin

Dr. Temple Grandin is a world-renowned animal scientist and an autism self-advocate, as well as an author, speaker, and video producer. She will be presenting on the Main Stage at EcoFair Marin on Sunday, September 4.

Our Story

In 2009, the City of San Rafael developed a groundbreaking Climate Change Action Plan to acknowledge local greenhouse gas emissions and set about reducing them. The report recommended creating a local sustainability event to bring together businesses, nonprofits and the community to celebrate and advance sustainability efforts.

A group of volunteers, some from the Climate Change Action Plan committee, formed EcoMarin in 2010 to plan the event. To honor Marin County’s rich heritage of innovative environmental stewardship and create an inclusive and diverse program, the Executive Committee has partnered with national green event producer Seven-Star, Inc.

The Greening of EcoFair

Every feature of EcoFair Marin – from public to back-of-house operations – will be sustainably produced. All products and services are to be environmentally responsible, and each exhibitor is contributing to their own carbon offsets.

We are adhering to the four pillars of sustainable event production, the EcoFair Marin will practice:

• Eco-product Conversion
• Landfill Reduction and Diversion
• Energy Reduction and Conversation
• Water Reduction and Conservation
