Il Davide Restaurant presents a Duo Winemaker Dinner with Starry Night Wine and Galante Vineyards

Executive Chef David Haydon along with two fabulous wineries are teaming up for an exclusive Winemakers Dinner kicking off the Concours d’ Elegance Car Show week on Monday, May 9, 2011, at Il Davide Cucina Italiana Restaurant. Bruce Walker from Starry Night Wine and Jack Galante from Galante Vineyards will pour wines paired with the 5+ course winemakers dinner.

A Prosecco reception with passed appetizers will greet the guests at their arrival at 6 p.m. First Course of Asparagus from Stockton’s Zuckerman’s Farm with Roasted garlic bread crumbs, bagna càuda, will be paired with Sauvignon Blanc’s from Galante, 2009, Carmel Valley and Starry Night, 2010, Napa Valley.

The second course, Gamberi Pancetta, Gulf Prawns wrapped with pancetta and Cowgirl Creamery gorgonzola with a cajun tarragon saffrom reduction will be served with Galante, 2006 Pinot Noir, Carmel Valley, "Almond Flat”.  Insalata of chicory, pomelo citrus "non-vinegar" vinaigrette with hazelnuts and aged manchego is the third course paired with Michael Forrest, 2008 Pinot Noir, Russian River, “Miron Vineyard".

Fourth Course is Agnello Arosoto, Lamb Shank braised in goat’s milk, fennel marmalade and spring garlic polenta cake with aged balsamic paired with Starry Night, 2007, Old Vine Zinfandel, Alexander Valley "Nervo Station Vineyard" and Galante, 2007, Merlot, Carmel Valley.

Dessert and fifth course is a Chocolate Budino cake with blackberry compote, house-made lavender ice cream paired with both Galante, 2008, Petite Sirah, Carmel Valley, "Olive Hill" and Starry Night, 2007, Zinfandel, Alexander Valley, "The Caboose".

Multi-award winning Il Davide Cucina Italiana Restaurant has been a San Rafael favorite for over 15 years. Starry Night Wine sources it’s grapes from some of the best vineyards and has won several awards and is based in San Rafael. Acclaimed Galante Vineyards from the Monterey Peninsula, has been growing grapes since 1969 and is considered the premier grower in the region. Advance reservations are recommended since seating is very limited.
