Lotus Chaat & Spice, the colorful downtown San Rafael restaurant featuring the savory, exotic small plates of India, will host a mixer for the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce on August 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Open to the public, the mixer is free for chamber members, $20 for non-members.
It’s the first time this new restaurant (with its own Indian grocery store), which opened in April at 1559 Fourth St. in San Rafael’s West End Village, will host a chamber mixer. Lotus Chaat & Spice is the only chaat-style restaurant in the North Bay. It is quickly becoming known for an unusual range of gluten-free as well as vegan dishes and daily specials.
“We are actively involved in Marin business; in particular in downtown San Rafael,” says Lotus Chaat’s owner Surinder Pal Sroa. The restaurateur also owns Lotus Cuisine of India on the East end of Fourth Street, in addition to Café Lotus in Fairfax, Anokha Cuisine of India and Golden Egg Omelet House, both in downtown Novato.

“Hosting the chamber is a wonderful way to give back to our business community as well as introduce them to what we are doing,” Sroa continues.
