
Frederick E. Nelson, PhD will discuss Louise Boyd’s work and accomplishments on her Arctic expeditions during the 1930s.Boyd’s expeditions and research are considered precursors to modern systems science and her work continues to have relevance today, as its results provides aseries of benchmark measurements for climate-change studies. Professor Nelson will highlight Boyd’s scientific contributions to science andprovide context for a deeper understanding of Boyd’s life-long passion.
