General Election 2018: Resources Available In Marin County

Election resources include an online voter information portal and audio CDs of local measures.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – It's easy for voters to access a variety of information about the November 2018 General Election, thanks to Marin County's Elections Department.

Voters can check their registration status, precinct, polling location, directions to their polling place and status of their vote-by-mail ballot by logging into the secure voter information portal. The portal also includes online access to the voter information guide.

The idea was hatched in 2014 and the Marin County Information Services and Technology Department team made the concept a reality not long after. A link to access audio recordings of local measures and state propositions found under the Voter Accessibility choice was added a few years ago.

"We want all voters to have access to resources they need so they can make an informed decision when voting," Lynda Roberts, Marin County's registrar of voters, said in a statement.

The site includes a link to election information where people can access past election results and learn about policies and procedures.

The department's mission is to provide a responsive, transparent and professional approach to conducting elections that will inspire trust and confidence and promote the participation of all eligible citizens in the election process.

"Our comprehensive website helps accomplish this mission," Roberts said.
