Golden Gate Changes, Discontinues Bus Routes In Marin County
The route changes will affect bus stops in San Rafael, Novato and the Sir Francis Drake Boulevard corridor.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Some Golden Gate Transit bus routes in Marin County will be changed while others will be discontinued.
The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation Board of Directors voted unanimously on Friday, July 26, to adjust bus routes in Marin. The route changes will affect bus stops in San Rafael, Novato and the Sir Francis Drake Boulevard corridor.
Several bus trips regularly experienced low ridership, according to the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District. Other routes needed extra bus trips to accommodate passenger demand.

"Our goal is to provide reliable, safe, and comfortable transportation between the North Bay and San Francisco," Planning Director Ron Downing said. "These changes are responsive to the community needs, while also being mindful of our fiscal responsibilities to our toll and fare payers who fund Golden Gate Transit operations."
The district held multiple open houses and a public hearing to receive comments from the community on the proposed bus route changes.
