FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK
Where/When: Play Well Marin, 216 Greenfield Avenue, San Anselmo, Daily
Why Go: Because the rain is giving everyone cabin fever and what’s not to love about legos (especially when you’re not the one picking up the pieces).
Pricing: $9 an hour weekdays, $10 an hour weekends
BAY AREA DISCOVERY MUSEUM -BUILDING BRAINSTORM
Where/When: Bay Area Discovery Museum, 557 McReynolds Rd. Fort Baker, Sausalito, daily until May 18th, 9 a.m - 4 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekends.
Why Go: This new exhibit is bound to keep your kids busy. Promise. Everything from blocks and tinker toys to computers where your young Eames (say that three times fast) can design the perfect room for an imaginary client. Future architects, engineers and designers: let your creative juices flow!
Pricing: $8 children (1-17), $10 adults
Where/When: Did you know this old school bowling alley at 88 Vivian Way in San Rafael has a Thursday Special? From 10 a.m. -4 p.m. it’s only four bucks a game.
Why Go: When the rain just keeps coming it's time to get out of the house. Who doesn’t love rolling a ball and watching it ricochet off the bumpers?
Pricing: $4 a game and $4 for shoe rental
Where/When: San Rafael Gymnastics, 129 Carlos Dr, San Rafael, 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Why Go: Because your couch isn’t a trampoline. Really. Let the kids jump on the real thing. For 18 months to 6 year olds.
Pricing: $10 for those not currently enrolled, $8 for those enrolled. Parents must stay and supervise (but of course, you’d do that anyway).
Where/When: Corte Madera Library, 707 Meadowsweet Drive, Corte Madera, Saturday 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Why Go: Do you have a 9-15 year old that’s into the Japanese comics known as Manga? Here’s their chance to take a workshop and learn some tricks of the trade. No experience necessary and all materials included.
