Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Marin Plans Annual Luncheon for San Rafael

Event planned for Wednesday.

The following was submitted for publication by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Marin:

The Annual “Mujer Latina” Luncheon is an annual recognition of Latinas and Women in Business during National Women’s History Month. This event honors the growing impact of Latina/Women-owned businesses and Latina/Women business leaders in Marin. The Hispanic Chamber of Marin’s mission is to promote strategies for success for Hispanic/Latino business owners and professionals in Marin’s culturally dynamic county.

Our Keynote Speaker is Vanessa Robledo, CEO of Black Coyote Wines in Napa Valley. In the six years since she took over the reins, Vanessa has established Black Coyote Wines as a multicultural wine brand with national distribution in 18 states and increased direct consumer sales and wine club 100 fold. She has become the face of a new generation of Hispanics who are well educated, hard-working, and eager to spread the gospel about food and wine to anyone who will listen. Committed to helping others, Vanessa has volunteered as a mentor of Camp CEO, a program of Girl Scouts of Northern California.

Vanessa has received many awards and recognitions for her work. In 2013 Governor, Brown appointed Vanessa to the 25th District Agricultural Association, Napa Town and Country Fair Board of Directors. In 2012 Vanessa was recognized as one of 100 women honored as a Forever Green Girl Scouts Honoree. As a fourth generation Hispanic woman working in the wine industry, Vanessa Robledo has a strong track record of business success and community involvement. As her grandfather once advised, “You must know how to appreciate the land and know that if you take care, love and nurture the vines, then they will always take care of you.” Vanessa has lived her grandfather’s philosophy since she began working in the vineyards at eight years old.
