Marin County Vehicle Auction Begins Saturday

Bidders can score a variety of cars, trucks and heavy equipment at below-market rates.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – On Saturday, March 30, the Marin County Department of Public Works will launch an online auction for a variety of vehicles for public purchase, with a selection including pickup trucks, heavy equipment and various SUVs and cars.

The surplus vehicles and equipment are being offered at below-market value. The auction is hosted by www.publicsurplus.com, a secure auction website specializing in selling surplus government property to the public, county officials sad.

The auction begins at midnight Saturday, March 30, and closes at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6.

Details about the auction items will not be available or visible on the website until the auction begins. However, the vehicles and their corresponding service records will be available for viewing Tuesday, April 2, through Thursday, April 4, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the County Public Works Garage, 6 Peter Behr Drive in San Rafael.

All items are sold “as is” and all sales are final, county official said, adding that it is the buyer’s responsibility to check the vehicle’s condition prior to purchase. Payment must be received by Public Surplus within five business days of the auction’s close, and vehicles must be picked up weekdays between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. within five business days of receipt of payment.
