Marin County Wants To Hear Your Accessory Dwelling Unit Story
Marin homeowners and tenants can earn money by sharing their story.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — Do you own or rent an accessory dwelling unit? Marin County wants to hear your story!
The county is seeking success stories from residents who have created an accessory dwelling unit to earn steady rental income and help alleviate Marin's housing crisis by providing a home for a tenant. The county's Community Development Agency would also like to hear from people who rent accessory dwelling units.
Both owners and tenants are eligible to earn payments of up to $200 for sharing their story. Anyone may participate in a survey in English, Spanish or Vietnamese through mid-March.

Community Development Agency staff is working with a contractor, Baird & Driskell Community Planning, to create online and print materials designed to help people create more accessory dwelling units and encourage Marin's towns and cities to do the same.
"Homeowners have questions about how to plan for, build, and finance ADUs, and the photos and videos that will come from this survey will be a great asset as real-life examples of success stories in Marin," CDA Planner Jillian Nameth Zeiger said.
