Marin District Attorney Lori Frugoli Being Sworn In Friday

Marin County's second-ever woman to serve as district attorney will be sworn in Friday by the first woman at a ceremony in San Rafael.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – Marin County's second-ever woman to serve as district attorney will be sworn in Friday by the first woman at a ceremony in San Rafael.

Lori Frugoli, a prosecutor in the district attorney's office and former police officer, was elected in November to succeed retiring Ed Berberian. She narrowly defeated former federal prosecutor Anna Pletcher by 386 votes.

Frugoli will be sworn in by Paula Freschi Kamena, who was elected as the county's first female district attorney in 1998 and served until 2004.

Frugoli's election meant that the district attorneys for all four North Bay counties – Marin, Sonoma, Napa and Solano – are all currently women.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Board of Supervisors' chambers at 3501 Civic Center Drive in San Rafael.
