Experts in public health and emergency planning will answer questions about potential hospital surge in Marin during an online event Monday.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — As residents stay home to help slow the spread of the new coronavirus in Marin County, county officials and local health care providers are preparing for a potential hospital surge in COVID-19 patients.
Community leaders will discuss hospital surge and what it means for Marin during an online event Monday. They will also explain how COVID-19 is currently impacting local hospitals and whether the county's medical network is prepared for a rapid increase in future cases.
Featured speakers will include Supervisor Katie Rice, who serves as president of the Marin County Board of Supervisors, Dr. Lisa Santora, the county's deputy public health officer, Dr. Dustin Ballard of Kaiser Permanente, and Mark Brown, deputy fire chief of Marin County Fire.
