Marin Municipal Water District Manager Gets Environmental Award
Ben Horenstein was honored with a National Environmental Achievement Award for Distinguished Service.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin Municipal Water District's general manager recently received a national environmental award, the water district announced.
Ben Horenstein was honored with a National Environmental Achievement Award for Distinguished Service at the National Association of Clean Water Agencies' Winter Conference.
The National Association of Clean Water Agencies represents public wastewater and stormwater agencies of all sizes nationwide. The National Environmental Achievement Awards program recognizes individuals who have made "outstanding contributions to environmental protection, their communities, ratepayers and the water sector."

Horenstein was among three key water industry leaders in the nation to receive the Distinguished Service Award.
"We are proud to see the distinguished career of our general manager recognized nationally by the water industry," said Jack Gibson, president of the water district's board of directors. "Ben's career of more than 30 years has been one of successfully meeting challenges, and making the most of those opportunities to create stronger agencies."

Marin Municipal Water District, the county's largest provider of drinking water, serves
more than 190,000 people. The district is also responsible for the management and
stewardship of 22,000 acres of watershed land.
