Marin Parolee Arrested In Santa Rosa With Loaded Glock Semi-Automatic
The late-night traffic stop in Santa Rosa leads to new charges for a parolee convicted of murder in Marin.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — A routine late-night traffic stop led to the arrest of a local parolee after officers later discovered a loaded handgun during a search, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.
Police stopped the man at about 11:55 p.m. on Feb. 27. A Santa Rosa police officer pulled over a vehicle for driving with no headlights. The driver was identified as a 23-year old who authorities said was on parole on a murder conviction in Marin County.
Police said officers searched the man's vehicle but found no "contraband."

But, because the man, Charlie Mazariegos, was on parole, officers searched his home under the terms of his parole supervision.
During that search, police said they found a loaded Glock 36 .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun in a bedroom. Authorities said Mazariegos is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

Mazariegos was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as for a parole violation.
