Marine Mammal Center In Sausalito​ Saves Thousands

VIDEO: The Sausalito-based nonprofit has rescued, rehabilitated and released more than 20,000 marine mammals since opening in 1975.

SAUSALITO, CA – Thousands of ill, injured or orphaned animals have been saved over the years, thanks to the Marine Mammal Center.

The Sausalito-based nonprofit has rescued, rehabilitated and released more than 20,000 marine mammals since opening in 1975. These include dolphins, elephant seals, harbor seals, sea lions, sea otters, whales and many other species throughout the center's 600-mile rescue range from Mendocino County to San Luis Obispo County.

With a mission to advance global ocean conservation, the Marine Mammal Center also educates more than 30,000 children and adults each year about marine life through education programs and events.
