Pilot Bike Lane Opens In San Rafael
The city of San Rafael is conducting a one-week pilot bike lane on Tamalpais Avenue to coincide with Bike to Work Week.
SAN RAFAEL, CA – It's Bike to Work Week! Commuters are encouraged to use a bicycle to travel to and from work this week.
In honor of the occasion, the city of San Rafael is conducting a one-week pilot bike lane on Tamalpais Avenue from May 7 to 11. This temporary change will include signage, striping and lane delineators to replicate what a permanent bike lane may feel like.
"This will provide a good opportunity for public feedback and for the city to evaluate the usage and effect on traffic, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and parking," according to an announcement from the city.
