Public Input Sought For Marin County's Pollution Survey

The 10-question survey closes on June 30.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Marin County is seeking the public's input on a pollution survey.

The county's Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program has launched the Stormwater Pollution Prevention & Awareness Survey in an effort to understand the public's awareness of potential pollutant-generating activities in Marin. The program educates the public to help prevent pollution from getting into the storm drains, which flow directly to waterways.

"We're asking residents to help us understand 'the state of pollution' in Marin County," said program administrator Rob Carson. "Many of our daily activities can generate pollution, whether we know about it or not. This survey will help us target our outreach better and understand where more education is needed, as well as determine where Marin residents are already doing the environmentally responsible thing."

The 10-question online survey closes on June 30. According to the county, the results will play a "crucial role" in helping the program identify gaps in public knowledge about practices that generate pollutants, hurt water quality, and threaten wildlife that depends on healthy water.
