RAFAEL TOWN CENTER COMPLETES MAJOR RENOVATION

Extensive capital project transforms the downtown San Rafael property into Marin’s premier live-work-play destination

The new RAFAEL TOWN CENTER (1050 Court St, San Rafael) property managers, Colliers International and First Service Residential announced today the completion of major renovations to the mixed-use property in the heart of Downtown San Rafael. RAFAEL TOWN CENTER, spanning an entire city block at the corner of 5th Avenue and Court Street, consists of 113 affordable, luxury apartments, 42,000 square feet of flexible office space with free indoor parking, and 25,000 square feet of street level shops and restaurants. The property was brought under new management in 2011 with the goal of transforming the center into Marin’s premier live-work-play destination, complete with luxury amenities. For leasing information phone (415) 482-9998. www.rafaeltowncenter.com

As an anchor for the Downtown area, RAFAEL TOWN CENTER is a draw to the local business district and residents, home to Thursday night Farmer’s Markets and summertime concerts, and a main dining attraction along the Center’s newly upgraded public promenade lined with popular eateries such as Mr. Pickles, Barney’s Hamburgers and Naan-N-Curry (coming soon). The transit-oriented development also provides convenient access to commuters, either working or living on site, with close proximity to Highway 101, the Golden Gate Ferry terminal and bus lines servicing the entire Bay Area.

After a state-of-the art, energy efficient renovation, the property (originally built in 2000) now features a brand new community room for private functions, a new business center and a new fitness center, as well as new appliances in all available apartment units. As an extra luxury, residents and tenants can also relax or entertain in the property’s newly remodeled interior courtyard featuring modern patio furniture, fire pit and a stainless steel barbecue kitchenette. These upgrades represent just a few of the modern amenities now available to residents, tenants and the public.

“Our goal with the transformation of Rafael Town Center was to attract a new vibrancy to the Downtown area, and we could not be happier with the results of our efforts,” said Jimi Yost of First Service Residential, Property Management.

The Center’s residential living includes 113 affordable, luxurious studio, one and two bedroom apartments with both mountain and bay views, and easy access to all the downtown shops and restaurants. The building includes free indoor parking, a fitness center, 24-hour on-site management, on-site storage, free Wi-Fi in common areas, a music room and secure bike storage.

The RAFAEL TOWN CENTER retail shops recently received a number of exterior upgrades including new patio paving and seating areas for the Center’s customers to enjoy outdoor dining. The Center’s retail shops include Coldstone Creamery, Arizmendi, Barney’s Hamburgers, Mr. Pickles, Lighthouse Diner, Mountain View Vintners and Naan-N-Curry (coming soon) on the food & beverage end, and for services, Zaaz Studios, Lime Wireless (Verizon) Claris Hair Studio and Opus Bank (coming soon).

The Center’s office space features 42,000 square feet of flexible space with free indoor parking, a brand new community room, business center with conference room and access to the fitness center. The new community room, which is open to the community upon request, provides a central location to host events and has been utilized by civic leaders including Mayor Gary Phillips and US Congressman Jared Huffman.

Both office and retail are leased by Cassidy Turley Northern California. The property has commercial and residential space for lease. For information, call (415) 482-9998.
