San Rafael Celebrates National Night Out Tuesday
Community members and law enforcement officers will celebrate at Albert Park, Oleander Park and Target in San Rafael.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – Community members and law enforcement officers across the country, county and city of San Rafael, will celebrate National Night Out Tuesday night. The annual event promotes community-police partnerships, crime prevention and neighborhood camaraderie.
This is San Rafael’s sixth time participating in the event. Officers will be at Albert Park, Oleander Park and Target in San Rafael.
Residents in neighborhoods throughout San Rafael and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1. Many neighborhoods will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, contests, youth activities and more.

Created in 1984, National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Last year, more than 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities across the United States, Canada, U.S. territories and military bases participated in the event.
