San Rafael City Schools Cancels Classes for Thursday

San Rafael City Schools will not be in session on Thursday, due to the storm that’s predicted to touch down in the North Bay beginning Wednesday night, school officials announced Wednesday.

School officials posted the following message online:

“Due to the severity of the storm forecasted for our area, all San Rafael City Schools will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 11. This decision was informed by a strong recommendation from the Marin County Office of Education and local authorities that all county schools close. We are in the process of contacting families through the all call system.”

A decision on whether or not schools will be open on Friday is yet to be made. An update is expected Thursday afternoon.
