San Rafael Mountain Biker Rescued By Sonoma Co. Sheriff's Helicopter Crew
BREAKING: The rescue of a San Rafael woman took place at Annadel State Park, a sheriff's sergeant said.

SONOMA VALLEY, CA -- An injured mountain biker was rescued by a Sonoma County sheriff’s helicopter crew Saturday in Annadel State Park. A sheriff's official said the mountain biker, a 69-year-old San Rafael woman, had crashed on her bicycle and suffered injuries that prevented her from walking out of the park.
The Sonoma County sheriff's "Henry-One" helicopter was dispatched to the scene at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday, sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Crum said. Deputies from the helicopter crew proceeded to locate the woman and direct a medical team to where she was, Crum said.
Upon evaluating the mountain biker, medical personnel determined she suffered a significant hip injury and a laceration, Crum said.

"Deputies set up a long-line rescue where a deputy flew in on the end of a rope with a basket attached," Crum said. "The deputy secured her for transport in the basket. The pilot flew back to the scene where they secured the deputy and the victim in the basket."
The woman was then flown in to an ambulance crew who was waiting on Channel Drive; the awaiting paramedics transported her to a local hospital, the sergeant said.
