San Rafael Police Recover Stolen Ferrari
Rocky Jimenez, 36, was arrested Sunday for allegedly stealing a Ferrari worth $245,000.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – A man panhandling for gas money was arrested Sunday in San Rafael with a stolen Ferrari worth $245,000, police announced Tuesday.
According to the San Rafael Police Department, Rocky Jimenez, 36, was arrested after police received reports about a suspicious man on Francisco Boulevard East at Shoreline Parkway.
"The male subject approached someone in the area and asked for gas money," said San Rafael police Sgt. Lisa Holton. "Another caller reported the subject was acting strangely and appeared to be pouring gasoline on the Ferrari."

Officers identified the suspect as Jimenez, a man from Georgia who said he owned the Ferrari, a 2016 488 GTB. Jimenez told police he had recently picked up the vehicle after leaving it at a service center for two years, Holton said.
"The officers were skeptical of the man’s claims due, in part, to his erratic behavior and vague answers to questions," Holton said.

Police searched Jimenez’s backpack and found a key to the Ferrari, as well a key to a second Ferrari. He had no ownership documents, Holton said, and a Ferrari representative confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen from the service center in San Rafael.
Jimenez was arrested for vehicle theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property.
Police found additional stolen property and are investigating whether Jimenez may be linked to other crimes.
