Seal Slows Traffic on Richmond-San Rafael Bridge: CHP
CHP officials tell Patch that several motorists pulled over to help move the animal.
MARIN COUNTY, CA- A seal was spotted this afternoon in the slow lane of westbound Interstate Highway 580 at the west end of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge in Marin County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The seal was first reported at about 2:10 p.m. and reportedly stopped multiple vehicles.
But as of 2:51 p.m., CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said the animal had been ushered back to the water.
"Multiple people stopped and ushered it back," he told Patch by telephone.
Asked if this was possibly the same seal who gave authorities a run for their money back in December, Barclay joked "there's no way to be sure" and CHP officials added on Twitter that they were on their way to question Tolay the elephant seal.
Multiple people stopped to usher seal back into the bay prior to CHP arrival. Officers on the way to question #Tolay and her pup.

Patch will be sure to follow up if this seal decides to return to the scene of the crime repeatedly, a la Tolay.
