Serial Commercial Burglary Suspect Captured In Bay Area
Arthur Joseph Salvetti, 47, is allegedly linked to over a dozen burglaries and five vehicle thefts throughout the Bay Area and Sacramento.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – San Rafael police helped catch a man allegedly linked to more than a dozen commercial burglaries in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Arthur Joseph Salvetti, a 47-year-old transient and state prison parolee from Alameda County, is suspected in over a dozen commercial burglaries and five vehicle thefts throughout the Bay Area and Sacramento, according to San Rafael police. Detectives found evidence at the scene of a burglary in San Rafael allegedly linking him to the crimes.
Police first responded to a commercial burglary Jan. 11 at an electrical supply warehouse in San Rafael. Salvetti allegedly broke in the warehouse by cutting the deadbolt on the front door with a concrete saw, San Rafael police Sgt. Lisa Holton said. He reportedly stole high-end tools and fled the store before the alarm company notified the police department. Salvetti allegedly burglarized the business again on Jan. 20.

During the course of the investigation, San Rafael police Det. Cpl. Alex Holm learned about similar burglaries at electrical and plumbing supply stores throughout the Bay Area. In an effort to identify the suspect, he coordinated with agencies across the region.
Police found evidence at the scene of the second San Rafael burglary that identified Salvetti as the suspect in the serial commercial burglary crime spree, Holton said.

Hayward police found Salvetti Thursday morning. Salvetti, who had been recently released from prison, is being held without bail for a parole violation.
