A Short Path to the Arts

Opening Reception & Art Show Live Music By Daniel Berkman, Kora Harp and The Mill Valley Middle School Chamber Orchestra

SAN RAFAEL – P.A.T.H. – Prison Arts Touching Hearts – This Spring, P.A.T.H. members have chosen Short Elementary School – a ‘model site’ for students in levels Kindergarten through Fourth Grade - as the recipient of this fundraising event. Aside from the array of original custom framed art for sale, snacks and beverages will be served. And, for everyone’s enjoyment, live music will be performed by Kora Harp musician, Daniel Berkman, as well as a music program performed by the Mill Valley Middle School Chamber Orchestra.

A ‘Short’ Path to The Arts will feature over 60 pieces of original artwork- all made and donated by incarcerated artists – which will be on public display and for sale. The mission of P.A.T.H is to give a much needed voice and validation to prison inmates who desire to give back to the community through their collective creative talents and donations. Proceeds from the sale of all art will directly benefit Youth on the Move's after-school arts program provided by First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael.

The art exhibit will be on display until May 19, Monday-Thursday, 10:00 am-3:00 pm. 1510 Fifth Ave. San Rafael, CA 94901. Call to arrange a time for viewing: 415-456-6760; enter through the church office on 5th Avenue.
